Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera - An Honest Review

Personally, I think that Canon makes some of the best cameras out there. If you are planning to get your self a high-zoom model ( mega-zoom camera), consider the Canon Powershot SX10IS. This model comes with a 20x optical zoom lens and a wide variety of very useful features. It comes with the latest imaging features such as the DIGIC 4 processor, face detection timer, auto contrast correction and much more.
The Canon Powershot SX10IS digital camera is the size of any typical mega-zoom unit. It weighs a little heavier to its predecessor at about 1.5 pounds, but sports a more practical design. It now sports a more curvy design with rounded edges. This new model has a pretty big grip, giving you a firm hold of the device. The big grip hides the casing for 4 AA batteries.
The placement of the easy access buttons (to review modes etc.) and the configuration of the menu has been significantly improved on this new model. The layout on the Canon Powershot SX10IS digital camera is very user friendly and it now comes with a rotating dial and an improved four-way navigation button on the back. There is also a record button dedicated to recording videos.
Currently, the Canon Powershot SX10IS digital camera is currently one of the fastest mega-zoom models in the market. When it is switched one, the camera is ready to shoot within about 1.5 seconds. Under good lighting conditions, the camera can focus and shoot within about half a second and about 0.8 seconds in darker ambiance lighting. It also comes with a rotating 2.5-inch LCD screen to help you take shots at odd angles.

Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera - An Unbiased Review

Specifications: The Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP digital camera is an excellent mega-zoom camera with a powerful 20x optical zoom (that boasts quiet zooming and a new improved zooming speed) for you to get closer to the action. It also has a 10MP image sensor for taking high-resolution images. It has a 2.5" LCD display that can be rotated and is powered by Canon's DIGIC 4 processor. Design: The Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP digital camera has a big comfortable grip (that houses the 4 AA batteries). The rotating LCD screen is a nice feature, but I personally think that it should not have compromised on the size of the screen (I love large display screens). It has a rotating dial on the back for selecting various modes (similar to Apple's navigation wheel). It also has a dedicated button for recording VGA videos.
Features & Performance: The new Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP digital camera comes with a wide array of features. Overall: Although this model may not be the fastest nor have the most powerful features in the market, it does have a wide range of features that gives you great value for the price that you pay. The quality of the images taken is very good, and thus far, it has proved to be a solid and reliable camera.

Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera - Does it Measure Up?

If you are looking to buy a Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom then you have arrived at the right place, you will not get all the fluff, that the normal review sites, will give you. You will get research based upon extensive user feedback from the people who have actually used and abused this product, that coupled with a genuine rating of whether we consider the product to be worthy of the purchase price. I will try and point out, what was considered to be whats good about this product and what was not so good, based upon real people with no axes to grind...
First off the camera felt very solidly built, if not a little heavy for a point and shoot model, but it did however feel well balanced throughout.
The SX10 IS stood up adequately to heavy usage, giving no issues, the controls are intuitively placed also. The 2.5" LCD screen is standard, but if I am honest, I would like to have seen a 3" screen for that little extra, and of course you would expect for the screen to pivot for easy viewing of subject (self portrait for example). What was very useful was the speed at which the unit booted up and was ready to shoot and it was also mentioned how useful the low battery warning was utilized, surprising how often , you can get caught out. As for the picture, well the 20x Optical zoom was considered more than acceptable. especially when used in conjunction with image stabilization function, that I know is available on less expensive Canon products, namely the Canon 1100 IS 8MP.
The feedback was less enthusiastic with the lack of grip on this unit, very slippery in damp conditions, which doesn't help if the subject is moving. Although the controls are intuitive the menu is far from that, proving a little messy, when it was un-familiar. The built in flash is pretty poor, but OK for day to day use, or in emergencies, this will often depend upon your own needs and wants. Pictures taken in low light, could be better, this is because of the densely packed pixels on the sensor, any ISO over 200/400 is un-usable.
Our Research on the Canon Powershot SX10 IS 10mp Digital Camera Suggests:
This product is proving to be a worthy successor to the S-series and G-series before that, it appears to have taken the minor concerns with those previous models and improved upon them, however as a result, it has a few concerns of its own, that you might find disappointing. If I were looking for a digital camera with excellent viewing Verdict: If you are looking for a digital camera, that is capable of giving you results that can hack it with the big boys (digital SLR), then you just might of found it.
